Meet our 5-Star Orthodontists

Dr. Scott McCranels is proud to serve the West Palm Beach community both in and out of the office. A passionate supporter of local organizations, he is actively involved with the YMCA of the Palm Beaches and the Surfing Florida Museum. His commitment to community runs deep, just like his family’s legacy in orthodontics.

Raised on Singer Island, Dr. Scott graduated from Cardinal Newman High School and earned his degree in Microbiology from the University of Florida. He went on to receive his Doctor of Dental Medicine from the Medical University of South Carolina and completed his orthodontic residency at the Medical College of Georgia. In 1995, he joined the family practice alongside his father, Dr. John “Chum” McCranels.
Before entering orthodontics, Dr. Scott spent years traveling the world as a professional surfer. That passion for adventure and discipline still guides him today, both in his practice and in life. He has been inducted into the East Coast Surfing Hall of Fame and the Florida Skateboard Hall of Fame, sharing the honor with his father as the only father-son duo recognized by the Hall.
When he’s not creating healthy, confident smiles, Dr. Scott enjoys spending time with his wife, Bebe, and their daughter, Camilla.
Dr. Thebis Alvarez Franceschi brings a thoughtful blend of science, artistry, and compassion to her work as a board-certified orthodontist. Originally from Venezuela, she was inspired early on by her father, a physics professor, and by her own creative interests. That balance of logic and creativity sparked her passion for orthodontics - a field where she could combine technical precision with the ability to make a real difference in people’s lives.

After moving to the United States in 2007, Dr. Alvarez dedicated herself to her education and professional growth. She earned a degree in Biology from Florida International University and completed her dental training at Nova Southeastern University. She then went on to receive her orthodontic specialty training at Jacksonville University, gaining advanced knowledge in the latest techniques and treatment approaches.

Dr. Alvarez is committed to excellence in her field and holds certification from the American Board of Orthodontics. She is also an active member of the American Association of Orthodontists, the Southern Association of Orthodontists, the American Dental Association, and the Florida Dental Association.

Outside of the office, Dr. Alvarez enjoys life at home with her husband, Luis, and their two daughters. Whether she’s spending time with family or transforming smiles, she brings dedication and warmth to everything she does.

Dr. Quinn was drawn to McCranels Orthodontics because of its warm, family-focused environment and its strong connection to the local community. These values closely mirror her own. Although born and raised in New York, she spent much of her life visiting Florida and always felt a deep connection to the Sunshine State. After graduating from the University of Miami, joining McCranels Orthodontics felt like a natural next step.

Her journey into orthodontics began with a childhood accident that left her with dental trauma. The care and kindness she received during treatment inspired her to pursue a career that could offer the same comfort and transformation to others. That experience shaped her path through Stony Brook School of Dental Medicine and later Seton Hill University, where she earned her orthodontic credentials.

Dr. Quinn is known for her thoughtful and approachable style with patients. She understands that great care involves building trust and making every visit feel comfortable. Her ability to connect with people has made a strong impression on the team, and Dr. Scott is excited to have her enthusiasm and communication skills supporting the practice.

Now settled in Florida, and a Certificate holder from the American Board of Orthodontics, Dr. Quinn is proud to be helping others discover the same confidence she once gained through orthodontic care.
