Invisalign Vs Braces

Invisalign, a state-of-the-art alternative to traditional braces, utilizes virtually invisible, removable aligners to gently shift teeth into their desired positions. This allows for increased comfort, flexibility, and convenience, as the aligners can be easily removed for eating and oral hygiene. On the other hand, traditional braces offer time-tested reliability and effectiveness, especially for more complex orthodontic cases. Our experienced team will work closely with you to determine the most suitable treatment plan tailored to your unique needs and preferences, ensuring you achieve the dazzling smile you've always wanted. Embrace the journey towards a confident and radiant smile with us!

Modern Orthodontic Treatment

Invisalign has emerged as the best modern orthodontic treatment due to its virtually invisible design, providing discreet teeth straightening without affecting one's appearance. The clear, custom-made aligners offer enhanced comfort and convenience compared to traditional braces, allowing easy removal for eating and oral hygiene maintenance. With precise 3D scans and personalized treatment plans, patients can expect efficient and predictable results. Invisalign's modern technology often leads to reduced treatment times, making it a popular choice for individuals seeking a quicker path to their desired smile. The freedom from dietary restrictions further enhances the treatment experience, making Invisalign a superior option for a confident and radiant smile.

A free consult with Dr. Scott McCranels and Dr. Thebis Alvarez will allow our team to see you and evaluate your needs to formulate just the right treatment. Treatment is prescribed according to severity, and patients can have as little as 10 sets of aligners or as many as 48.

Patients wear each aligner set for about 2 weeks, removing it only for eating, brushing and flossing. Visits to the orthodontist are generally scheduled at six-week intervals. As you replace each aligner with the next, your teeth will move gradually until the end of treatment, prescribed by Dr. McCranels, is reached.

The staff frequently attends Invisalign seminars and training sessions to be able to provide cutting edge treatment and expert care.

Invisalign FAQ

1. Am I a candidate for Invisalign?

We offer a free consultation to assess you and see if Invisalign is right for you.

2. How often must I wear my aligners?

Your aligners should only be removed to eat, drink, brush and floss. Otherwise, you should be wearing them.

3. Are there restrictions on what I can eat and drink while in treatment?

No! Unlike traditional wires and brackets, you may eat whatever you like while in treatment! It is important to brush your teeth and aligners after eating prior to re-inserting them to maintain proper hygiene. It is important to take out aligners to drink anything other than water to avoid stains and cavities.

4. Will wearing aligners affect my speech?

Like any type of orthodontic treatment, there is a short adjustment period. The more you talk – the quicker you’ll adjust!

5. Is there much discomfort with Invisalign treatment?

Typically described as pressure, minor discomfort for a day or two is experienced at the initial insertion of each new stage. This is a sign that your aligners are doing their job.

6. Will cigarette smoking stain the aligners?

We discourage smoking with aligners because it is possible for them to become discolored.

7. Can I chew gum?

Gum will stick to the aligners; remove them to chew or snack.

8. What’s the best way to clean aligners?

Brushing them with a gentle toothpaste and lukewarm water will keep them clean and fresh. Using any denture cleaner with warm water also works well.

9. What happens after treatment to prevent my teeth from moving?

Retainers. All orthodontic patients (whether traditional braces or Invisalign cases) are instructed to wear retainers forever (just at night!). Studies and statistics provided by the American Association of Orthodontists have shown that teeth can and will move at any time. Sleeping in retainers at night forever ensures a healthy bite and fabulous smile will be maintained for life!
